Thermage®
Thermage® is a laser light procedure that uses radio frequency energy to heat and stimulate collagen production in your skin, helping to tighten the skin, lift eyebrows, tighten loose areas around the jaw or neck, reduce the appearance of acne scars or facial scars, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Prior to the Thermage® treatment, you will receive pain reduction through both an oral medication and local anesthesia that is injected into the skin. This process usually takes about 45 minutes to be effective and the Thermage® treatment, itself, takes an additional hour to hour and a half. A radio frequency laser will be administered to stimulate collagen production in your skin, making the skin appear tighter and firmer.
Thermage® treatment patients must be accompanied by a driver since the pain medication can cause drowsiness and delayed reaction time. Patients are not allowed to drive themselves home immediately following the Thermage® treatment. Side effects of the Thermage® laser treatment include mild to moderate redness and swelling that usually dissipate within one week, although some patients may experience swelling for more than one week. Unlikely but possible risks include burns, blisters, scars, skin discoloration, and pain or discomfort that lasts for longer than one week. If you experience any of these complications, contact our office immediately.
The friendly and knowledgeable staff will be happy to discuss Thermage® treatments and any of our other laser light procedures with you. Please call us at 1-888-LASER-15 (1-888-527-3715) to schedule an appointment at any of our five Laser Touch Medical Clinics or schedule an appointment online.
