Dermal Fillers
Laser Touch Medical Clinic in Los Angeles provides dermal fillers, also known as wrinkle fillers or wrinkle remover to eliminate facial lines, wrinkles, and deep facial folds to achieve a younger appearance. Dermal Fillers reduce lines, wrinkles and creases by filling in the space beneath these defects. The results can be seen immediately.
Depending on the type of look you want to achieve and your personal skin type and health history, Dr. Hakimian can recommend the dermal filler that is best for you. There are many types of dermal fillers: hyaluronic acid-based, collagen-based, microspheres-based, and L-lactic acid-based.
Collagen is what makes your skin young and elastic—we have it in abundance when we are young, but our bodies produce less and less collagen as we age. You’ve probably heard of it before; collagen is constantly advertised as being an ingredient in firming lotions and creams. Dermal fillers offered at Laser Touch Medical Clinic used to replace the loss of collagen include Radiesse®, Sculptra®, and Artefill®.
Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in our skin, and is what gives it volume. If your skin is beginning to succumb to the signs of aging, the first thing you may notice is that your skin loses volume—instead of appearing tight and plump, it may appear to be sagging and soft. This happens during the aging process as the natural hyaluronic acid in our skin begins to change. Maybe your skin is not yet showing signs of aging, but you still wish to plump up certain areas, such as your lips or cheekbones. Receiving an injection influx of hyaluronic acid is a non-surgical way of plumping up your skin to increase its volume, giving your skin a naturally firm appearance. Hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers offered at Laser Touch Medical Clinic include Restylane®, Perlane®, Juvéderm®, and Prevelle®.
Some dermal fillers also include an anesthetic in order to make the injection process as painless and comfortable as possible. The most commonly used anesthetic in dermal fillers is lidocaine. Dermal fillers that can or already include lidocaine are Restylane®, Perlane®, Juvéderm®, Prevelle® and Artefill®. For those interested in Radiesse® and want a more comfortable experience, can ask for the Radiesse to be mixed with lidocaine.
